Hands-on activities that help children discover equal and unequal shares through real-world scenarios they already understand: fairness and sharing.
Early fraction vocabulary practice that sets the foundation for math success, all wrapped up in a story that kids actually want to hear again and again.
Fractions Don't Have to Be Confusing
Here's the thing: young children already understand fairness. They understand sharing. They just don't realize they're doing math. This free activity and coloring pack brings those two worlds together. Through Mr. Rabbit's silly adventure in Sharewood Forest, children explore what makes a share 'fair' and discover that halves mean two equal pieces—a foundational concept that builds confidence in math. Your printable PDF includes coloring pages, guided activities to recognize equal and unequal shares, and opportunities to practice early fraction vocabulary in a way that feels natural and fun. Perfect for classrooms, homeschooling, math centers, or a cozy afternoon at home.
About Melanie Anderson
Hi! I'm Melanie Anderson, and I've spent 30 years in classrooms watching something magical happen: the moment when a child realizes they're actually a mathematician. After decades of helping young learners make sense of math, I created Mr. Rabbit's Fraction Adventure because I knew there had to be a better way to introduce fractions. Not through abstract concepts, but through stories, characters, and the things children already understand like sharing a snack fairly with a friend. I believe every child can love math when it's presented the right way. That's why I'm so excited to share this free activity pack with you. It's my way of bringing a little math joy into your home or classroom.
